AUDIENCE

Local government employees who are involved in the implementation and governance of people, systems, plans and policies and who are passionate about leadership and management excellence.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Identify key elements of governance in council, develop awareness of managing people performance issues, better understand budget preparation in council and develop the ability to review HR policies and procedures within council.

Provide quality and timely advice to council by enhancing their managerial, coordination and planning skills.

COURSE PATHWAYS

This course is intended to support candidates to gain formal recognition for the work, roles and responsibilities currently being undertaken and is an articulation into related university courses.

On successful completion of your course and all assessments, you will receive a Nationally recognised qualification outlining the course completed and the units within that course.

PRE-REQUISITES
  • have a minimum of two-years full-time employment, working within the Administration Department.
  • hold a position which requires you to undertake tasks within the Council’s Executive Administration processes.
  • acquired a completed Performance Appraisal statement within the last twelve months, confirming your competencies within the Administration Department.

DELIVERY

Our instructor-led Diploma provides participants with interactive sessions including group discussions, case study reviews, question and answer sessions. Our training course includes all course training materials, assessment and mentoring/assistance by your allocated trainer.

DURATION & LOCATION

Our standard structure for this course is six (6) full days to be completed over a period of five months and can be delivered in any metropolitan or regional area of Queensland.
